The Little Extras

A nurturing doula aims to encourage the mum to concentrate on 4 sections: Social Support, Rest, Nutrition and Bodywork. All can be utilised pre- and postpartum.

Social Support I offer ranges from:

  • My support

  • Supporting your partner (if you have one) to help them better support you

  • Giving you the tools to recognise and request your social circle to provide you with that support

  • Offering the option to have your own Mother’s Blessing and receiving that circle of support from your female friends and family

  • Ensuring you know your rights and what can be requested from your health professionals, aka midwives and doctors

Rest Support I offer ranges from:

  • My knowledge to help you use breathing techniques both during pregnancy, labour and postpartum, which will ensure you can remain calm and rested throughout this new part of life

  • Offering meditation techniques

  • Giving you the tools and knowledge as a doula to rest your body in the most effective way for you and the baby(ies)

  • Requesting help from loved ones to take the load off you

  • Offering knowledge on aromatherapies

  • Suggesting what treatments will help you rest

Nutrition Support I offer ranges from:

  • My knowledge to help you feed you and the baby eat nutritiously, both before and after birth

  • Help you eat correctly to help combat morning sickness, anaemia, gestational diabetes and other common pregnancy concerns with nutrition

  • As a post-partum doula, I bring meals to you and your family to help lighten the work on you and your family, doing small shops, etc

  • Suggesting ways the people around you can help

  • Helping you where necessary with baby feeding (breast or bottle)

Body Support I offer ranges from:
