Welcome Expecting Parents…

As a UK certified doula I offer prenatal, birth and postnatal services for any who require friendly, professional support.

By offering the tools and knowledge to help you make those important, informed decisions throughout your birth journey, whether it be in regards to having a home or hospital birth, no medication or all the medication, having a water birth or not, I can help you plan and have your dream birth.

There are so many aspects involved in a birth that have an impact on the birth journey and how a loved one comes into the world, that having a supportive professional who can help the whole family, physically, emotionally and informationally.

As ‘The Cwtchy Doula’ I will support you the way a Cwtch can, with a sense of offering warmth and love in a safe and embracing way.

Research has shown that having a doula with you through childbirth can:

  • Shorten the length for labour by 25%

  • Reduce the need for pain relief by 30%

  • Reduce epidural requests by 60%

  • Decrease caesarean section rate by 50%

  • Decrease the need for augmentation (with an oxytocin drip) by 40%

My Personal Profile

I’m Catrina, I fell in love with the beauty of birth after my own birth experiences, and from that moment, I wanted to be a supportive figure to others going through this significant part of their life.

As a doula, my passion lies in holistic therapies and options to help create a RELAXING and FEARLESS approach to birth.

I am very excited to be a part of your birth journey and cannot wait to support you and your birth partner (or be your birth partner) through this amazing journey.

Rebozo Massage

&

Closing the Bones

What is it?

This wonderful practice is all about nurturing and supporting new mothers, as well as any woman going through an important transition in their life, to navigate the journey. The ceremony includes gentle massages, cosy wraps with a rebozo, and a variety of soothing techniques. These gentle touches are designed to help women recover and feel whole again. It’s a lovely way to honour and care for everything she has been through!

What are the benefits?

Physical Recovery

The ceremony is a great way to help a new mom's body bounce back after labour and childbirth. In general, it encourages better circulation, helps relax muscles, and improves joint flexibility.

Emotional Healing

This special time allows women to feel supported as they process their emotions, let go of tension, and find some inner peace and calm.

Spiritual Connection

The ceremony provides a meaningful sense of closure and deepens the connection to the beautiful spiritual side of womanhood.

Community Support

It's a wonderful chance for family and friends to come together in celebration, creating a loving and supportive community, especially around the new mom.

What are the steps?

Depending on whether I'm supporting you as a doula, our journey together will look a bit different from the start. At some point, I’d love to have a chat—either over the phone or in person over a cup of tea or coffee. This will give us a chance to talk about whether you’re interested in a spiritual closing ceremony or something more focused on helping you process your transition and what you hope to gain from it.

Non-Spiritual Ceremony

On the day I arrive, we’ll spend 15 to 30 minutes chatting about the transition you’d like to close, whether it's about birth, menopause, your first menstrual cycle, or any other experience connected to your body, traumatic or not.

Next, you can enjoy a relaxing bath (if you have one) or a shower with some lovely flowers, herbs, and essential oils I’ll provide to help cleanse your body. Each of these elements is backed by science and can really help you feel refreshed. If you’d like, you can have a friend, partner, or family member join you for this part to make it even more special and relaxing by bathing you as you lay in the water. This will take around 15-30 minutes.

While you’re bathing, I’ll prepare the space in your home for the massage and ceremony.

The massage and ceremony will take about an hour and will include a gentle massage of your head, hands, abdomen, and feet (you can skip the massage if you prefer). We’ll create a cosy, peaceful atmosphere with dim lighting, calming music, and soothing aromatherapy, whilst I use the rebozos to rock and wrap your body.

After your massage, you’ll have some time to relax, wrapped up before we unwrap you and chat about how you’re feeling. Overall, this non-spiritual process will take about 1 hour and 30 minutes to 2 hours.

Price of Service

£200 if time goes over, there is no extra charge.

It is included in ALL my BIRTH packages.

Spiritual Ceremony

If you choose a spiritual ceremony, all of the same steps from a non-spiritual ceremony will be included. However, after you’re wrapped up, I’ll read a meditation and help realign your chakras through Reiki.

This ceremony can be shared with your close female friends and family, but I do ask that we keep the energy feminine by not having any male presence after the bathing is finished.

I’m really looking forward to this journey with you!
